We're based at 4309 SW Oakridge Rd here in Lake Oswego, and we work the door jobs in this pocket of the metro area - Lake Oswego itself plus the near-in spots like Palisades, Forest Highlands, Robinwood, and out to Stafford, Oak Grove, Metzger, Jennings Lodge, Milwaukie, and West Linn.
When you reach out, tell us the door's size (single or double), whether it's the spring, the opener, a bent track, or a cable that's the problem, and roughly how old the door is. If you know when the house was built, that helps too - a lot of the stock around here dates to the 1980s and 90s, and hardware from that era often needs specific parts that newer doors don't use.
We don't do same-day quotes sight unseen for anything beyond a basic spring or opener swap. If the problem is a bent track, off-track panel, or a door that's been forced, we need to see it before we'll give you a number worth trusting.
Work We Turn Down
We work on residential garage doors and openers. We don't touch commercial rolling doors, gate operators, or fence gates, and we won't quote a job we can't get to - if your address falls well outside the towns we cover, we'll say so up front rather than string you along.
We also turn down jobs where replacement makes more sense than repair and the caller wants us to patch it anyway. A door built in the 1960s or 70s with a warped panel and a worn-out opener is usually cheaper to replace than to keep repairing piece by piece - we'll tell you that straight, even if it means a smaller job for us that day.
We don't give firm prices over the phone for anything involving structural damage to the frame or header, water damage to the door itself, or openers that have been rewired outside the manufacturer's setup. Those need a look in person, because guessing at a number we can't back up isn't a favor to you.
Who Does the Work
We're a garage door repair and installation outfit working out of Lake Oswego, handling doors, springs, openers, tracks, cables, and rollers for houses in this part of the metro area. We don't run a call center that dispatches to whoever's free - the person who answers the phone is the same trade the job gets scheduled to.
Given that housing here runs mostly 1980s to 90s, with some going back to 1964, we see a fair number of original torsion springs and openers that are past due for replacement, plus more recent stock that just needs normal wear parts. We don't pad a job with parts you don't need, and if a five-minute adjustment fixes it, that's what we'll bill.
What We Actually Do
A garage door quote is only as good as what's behind it. Over the phone we can usually price a broken torsion spring, a worn opener, snapped cables, or bent rollers on a standard single or double door, because those parts are consistent across most residential setups.
What we can't price without seeing the door: any job where the track or header is bent out of shape, where the panels have taken on moisture damage, or where a previous repair used mismatched parts. Winters here run cold and damp rather than brutal, but that steady moisture over the decades does wear on wood-panel doors and rusts hardware that was never sealed right - and that kind of wear varies enough door to door that we won't guess at it.
Once we're at the house, we check the springs, the tracks, the opener's force settings, the cables, and the weatherstripping, and give you a written number before any work starts. If the fix is a $40 part, we say so. If the door's at the point where a new one costs less over time than another repair, we say that too.
